Step 1.

First of all, you need to combine funnel with plastic tubing. You can do it by using your gun with hot glue. Do not forget to use enough of glue inside of tubing as well as outside. It will make the construction more reliable. Another reason to use a lot of glue is that you do not want your pool vacuum to leak water or air.

Step 2.

At this stage use your pantyhose. You need to attach it to the opening part of a funnel. To make sure that they fit well use your rubber band. The purpose of pantyhose is to act as a filter against dirt and particles.

Step 3.

Your leaf vacuum is almost complete. What you need to do now is just to take the end with your funnel on it. Next you should press it against suction filter. It must be somewhere inside of your pool. The power of suction will be used to pull your funnel against it. Thus, you will be able to achieve seal creation.

Step 4.

It is time you used another end of your tubing. It will serve as end of a vacuum. It will absorb dirt, particles, debris, leaves or whatever you can find on the ground. What you need to take care of is to get rid of all the bubbles of air. Make sure there are none of them inside of the tube otherwise you can damage it or it will not work in a correct way.
As you see it is not necessary to spend big sums of money on cutting edge pool vacuum. Making it is relatively simple and you do not need to be an expert at engineering or mechanics. Using your imagination you can install a few upgrades. For example, you can use a net to serve as a different type of filter. Do not forget to experiment with hoses. Their width will enable you with higher power of absorbing dirt. Try to use your DIY pool vacuum on different surfaces to see where it works best. This will also give a better understanding how you can improve your invention.
